Deaf or Dumb

Do you remember your first day of school? Were you excited? Apprehensive? Or maybe just sad because you would have rather stayed on Grandpa’s farm with the horses? I can still remember my first day as if it were yesterday. Forced to start one year early and sent to a “better” school that I was not allowed to attend because of where I lived, I was terrified, intimidated and overwhelmed by the expectations forced upon me by the grown-ups.

Just keep your head down and be quiet!

Grandma once said: if you have nothing good to say, say nothing at all.
