In the words of Roberto Benigni:
Buongiorno Principessa
For those unfamiliar with the story, the protagonist in Roberto Benigni’s 1997 film—much like Saint-Exupéry’s Little Prince, who faithfully visits his rose at the same hour each day—waits daily on the market square, joyfully and confidently calling out, “Buongiorno, Principessa!” to his cherished princess as she walks by.
Now, our protagonist may not be overly blessed with natural beauty, but he has made up his mind: La vita è bella1 (Life is beautiful). With that belief, he approaches life and all its challenges patiently, one step at a time. Through one simple phrase and a steadfast motto, he sets out not only to win the heart of his (future) princess but also to tackle the trials of life with determination.
This is a lesson for all of us as the new year dawns. Embrace 2025 and forget not: Buongiorno Principessa, Life is beautiful! By facing life’s challenges one day at a time, by setting out to win the hearts of those around you—one heart at a time—and by striving for the profound happiness you truly seek, you can overcome any challenge with positivity and patience.
The key lies within you. All you need to do is decide. So get up, get out, and stop waiting for luck 🍀 to find you—seize it and shape your destiny. Life’s beauty awaits if you choose to see it.
Go within or go without.
(Neale Donald Walsch)
